The challenge
Data on parking for large vehicles is scattered, incomplete and often wrong. We needed to build a reliable location database, present it on a fast interactive map and make it available to drivers on their phones — with infrastructure costs that don't spiral as the user base grows.
The solution
We built the location database by combining multiple data sources with automated verification: geocoding and distance-based deduplication scripts ensured every location is accurate and unique.
Instead of expensive commercial map services that charge per map view, we set up our own map server: OpenStreetMap vector tiles served from self-managed infrastructure protected with HTTPS, a firewall and access restrictions. The result is fixed, predictable costs regardless of traffic.
